Nothing quite like the sweet sound of a Rolls Griffon in a Spitfire, or a Packard built Rolls Merlin in a P51 to make the hair on the back of your neck stand up .

Rolls Royce Engines

Yeah, The Rolls Merlin, In 1944 Produced Just Over 1000hp To Power The P51 Mustang And Later The Spitfire & The Hurricane, What An Awesome Sound To Any Motor Head, Did Any One Ever See The Head Been Taken Off An Early V12 Rolls Engine?
It Is A Site To Behold, There Are No Head Bolts, The Heads Are So Perfectly Machined That They Used Steel Dowels And Then Heat To Expand The Dowels, To Take The Heads Off You Must Suspend The Engine By The Heads And The Bottom Will Simply Drop Off After Around 5-6 Hours, It Is An Unbelievable Piece Of Machine Work For That Time.

I've seen hundreds of V-12's crank up. Diesels.... How about a V-12 Detroit with twin blowers and twin turbos and intercoolers!!!

After looking at the video I see that it is a Detroit diesel. That thing will slobber oil all day long, right out the slobber tubes.
