everything new is old again!

I had a 56 ford, that was flat black ala rustoleum, and red steelies. Now, everywhere I look I see this showing up. New trucks, S10's, imports, and even plain old late eighties 4 doors. Did I miss a "new" trend starting? Wazzup???

The flat black and red steelies has been popular for about 10 years now......of course each year it seems to get bigger.

I knew it was popular among the rod crowd. I didn't realize just how many were jumping on the band wagon these days.

I guess cool is kool, no matter what your generation is. If it looks good,do it! Maybe i'll have to paint my 87' short box flat black with a nice set of chrome reverse wheels just for old times sake. add a little Von Dutch style striping and call it good!!!

Flat Black Body Paint, Red Wheels, Wide Whitewalls, Baby Moons = The "Rat Rod" look?

Flat Black Body Paint, Flat Black Wheel, Black Sidewalls, "Dog Dish" hub caps (5/8" - 3/4" holes drilled in them optional) = The "Rum Runner" or "Bootlegger" look?

I wonder if that will make a come-back, too?

I always liked Chrome Reverse Wheels with Baby Moons ("Poor Boys Mags")
as a kid. Had them on my 1966 (351C-powered) "Galactica".

Speaking of 351-C power ... there was a 9-second 88 Mustang that walked away with the trophy at Race City Speedway in Calgary yesterday. Man, did that thing "hook"! Pulled the front up and kept it there for quite a ways ... a LOT of fun to watch.

I wanna go next year!
