Sometimes people will cut the flanges to seperate the tubes. If you could post a picture, it may help. If you have a rod shop close, you might take it there and see what they can tell you. Other than looking through books and online for the headers you have, it may be tough to tell you what you need.

Ok Thanks S10racer.
That is weird about people cutting the flanges to make the tubes separate. What would be the purpose of doing that? I just figured it was a low end header from a few(10+)years back. It's as I figured. I will have to take pictures and try my hardest to match up what I have. There is an exhaust shop that works on a lot of the Hot Rods in my area that might be able to help me out. I guess I will have to see. Maybe I can study them over the winter and try to match them up to something on the summit or jegs web site. |

They cut the flange to help with sealing. This is usually only done on the narrow 1/4" thick flanges. The thicker 3/8" flanges are strong enough to stay fairly straight and flat so cutting them are not needed.
Some claim that cutting them also helps keep the header bolts tight but I have no proof of that. |

I have been on the summit website looking at all the different configurations. That is what got me concerned that I will pick a set of headers that will not be shaped just right. Once I do find a set you can count on me keeping a record on exactly what it was LOL.
