I don't know how much a 142 adds to engine noise, but my car with an 8-71 SBC 383 was horrible loud. With Borla XLS's and 3 inch it was bearable until you got after it, dumping to the sides.

Build a 2.5" into 3.5",, 2 into one system that follows the stock oem exhaust path down the passenger side floor pan up over the axle. Mount a single big 3.5" in 3.5" out Magnaflow muffler transversely behind the rear axle. Add a 3.5" tail pipe to exit at the rear bumper on the rear drivers side.
Use a flowmaster #Y250350 2 into 1 merge Y-pipe Use Dynomax 2.5" and 3.5" straights and 90-180 deg mandrel curves and appropriate header reducers, to fabricate the system. Use Walker/Dynomax 2.5" and 3.5" band clamps to attach the parts you cannot weld. Make use of the factory OEM muffler/tailpipe hanger locations on the rear frame rails to hang the muffler and 3.5" tail pipes. Fits the car, good ground clearance, reasonable exhaust noise, high flow/horsepower capacity. You cannot buy this system complete. You have to buy the separate components and cut and mig weld it all up. |

The mufflers I'm looking at are the dynomax bullet. The moroso spiral flow. Or flowmaster super 10. I want true dules and will prolly dump in from of the back axles. Anyone have thoughts on which of these is better. I love the borlas but a little to expensive for me. Thanks
