Exhaust Inq

Hey guys, I have a 1972 Pontiac LeMans that I will be changing the mufflers on. My car has the big 455 with headers. It currently has some straight thru mufflers on it and I dont really like the sound. I am considering going with 2 Flowmaster super 40s. Has anyone had any expierience with these mufflers or maybe have an alternate suggestion. My car is true dual straight pipes from the headers currently. I want something a little deaper and aggressive sounding than whats currently on it. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

I prefer Hooker Aerochambers over flowmasters. I have them on my 72 pick-up with a 350, no tailpipes, just turndowns. Put a set on my buddy's 66 Imp with a 396, just turndowns and sounds good to me but is to loud for him. Nice deep rumble with some "tinny" sound to it.

Magnaflows are nice mufflers too. They don't kill your ear drums while you are cruising.

Jeg's has them for $64 apiece. My 72 is near stock quiet cruising down the highway, bud's 66 is not. Must be the diff between a SB and a BB.
