Exhaust leak

This maybe is a dumb question but i'm trying to put a band aid on my exhaust until winter. I will replace the whole system this winter. The two sliding connector or what every you call it where the header and the exhaust pipe meets is wavy. I used the dead aluminum gasgets and tighten the three bolts up but the sliding contectors are so wavy that is leaves a gap between the header and exhaust. This maybe dumb but is there any type of caulk that I can fill in the gap to get me by for a short while. I get some exhaust in the cab because of this.

Thanks

Marcus

Sounds like you could just use a few gaskets stacked up instead of just one to (band aid) The situation.

you could try high temp silicone if there is no oxygen sensor in the system or muffler cement should work well also.
