exhaust manifold and oil dipstick in each others ways

i got a 79 SBC 350 i just built up and its pretty much ready to be put into my car. just went to install the ehxaust manifolds and the drivers side one wont go on because the oil dipstick is in the way, i tried to bend it out of the way but no luck and ended up bending it enough the dipstick wont go through it anymore. the manifold is right inline with the oil dipstick hole in the block.

do you guy have any suggestions of what i should do here?

could get differnt manifolds or install headers but then the exhaust needs to be redone and i just put on this dual exhaust.

You need the oil pan that has the dipstick in it, that clears your manifolds. I believe the dipstick ends up on the passenger side. ....OR

Might be time to invest in a set of headers....they will clear. The "G" body exhaust manifolds suck anyways.

what i just did with the stock dip stick is remove the tube and mark down on the stick with a hack saw, when the dip stick is in all the way normally, and i marked it so i can use my finger nail in the groove and push down untill my nail hits the block. im sure it will work but i will have to remove the stick and keep it under the hood, if i leave it in the block it might hit the crank since it goes down farther.

The manifolds were made for passenger side sticks. I had the same problem one time and used an old ram's horn and a piece of flex tube just to get it back on the road. Not pretty, not racing, but it worked.
