exhaust pipe

I have a quick question about exhaust pipe I have a rotted muffler and need to replace it. the pipe measure 2" I.D AND 2 1/4 O.D so i need a muffler with 2 1/4 inlet correct?

Correct mufflers are sized to fit the O.D. of the pipe.
