also does anyone know if its possible to get them exhaust pipes certed for new zealand? iv asked around and some people said no and some said yes, just not sure if the factory manifolds will fit on .....

I am not sure of your laws but sure you could put factory exhaust manifolds on, simply remove the headers and bolt them on. There may be some clearance issues with the inner fenders or something but you will need to post photos so we can see down in there.

Hey, the exhausts were just 8 straight chrome pipes out the bonnet lol and jst got an answer before and it cant get legal fingers crossed factory manifolds will fit on.... kinda scared they wont because the starter motor and everything is already close to the body and not sure an exhaust can fit past
All you can do is try, but some block hugger headers may be needed. I mean custom made block hugger, I don't believe the off the shelf ones will work. But post some photos of the how the motor fits in there. I don't believe it's a popular swap, at least here, small block Chevy swaps in those Jags are very popular with bolt in kits being sold.

That car! :pain: If the manifolds don't fit then go with block huggers like brian said. There's some make your own header kits out there that you might try if you cant find anything that fits. That would be just about guaranteed to fit since you build them to fit.

OR you can run the exhaust pipes along the top of the roof like they do in Japan.
I have seen stock cast iron manifolds milled at an angle to tilt them in slightly for more clearance. some 460's used GM design starters that were bulky, bigger than a normal Ford 460 starter. and 460's from the factory used larger starter and battery cables.

Yep, my brother did do that on a engine swap once I remember. Just a little milling can translate to the bottom of the manifold moving quite a bit I would think. Good thinking :thumbup:
