exhaust question

I have a 318, 5.2 L, V8 in a full size van.
I want that rappy sound.
I replaced my stock muffler with a porter steel pack.
I cannot hear any difference in sound.
should I get rid of my catalytic converter?

Headers would be nice don't know just how big the job would be though never done a voyager before. loose the cats and definitely some duals with some decent mufflers.JMO Headers i'm just not sure how hard they would be to install.
