Exhaust question (??)

Happy Holiday all~

Will it hurt an engine to fire it up without any exhaust? I don't have my headers back from the coating shop yet and I don't want to put on the old exhaust manifolds - but I'd like to fire it and get the timing set. I was thinking that if I didn't run it long it might not hurt.

Thanks
GB~

It won't hurt the engine ... but what it will do to you, your engine compartment, your wiring........ also a prime opportunity for an engine fire.

Be patient, young skywalker...
