exhaust questions

hey guys.. i'm putting a 70 chevelle together and i'm really big on how its going to sound, even though i'm no where close to putting the exhaust system in i was wondering if anyone knew if there's any difference from the muffler being offset in the front or center in the back, or offset in front and dual out the back and so on.
if anyone has any knowledge on this i'd love to here about it, thanks

re: exhaust questions

That is just for fitment purpose. It makes no difference in performance or sound.

re: exhaust questions

If you put the mufflers in the front and run pipe all the way to the back it will pop and crack when slowing down. I see this on a lot of trucks. If you put the toward the back with shorter tail pipe it will sound more mellow. It seems the factory cars that have the best sound have the mufflers all the way to the back with little or no tail pipes. I think location of the mufflers will have an impact on the sound.

re: exhaust questions

I think he was talking just about the muffler itself and not its particular location on the vehicle. In this case Turbo answered it.

Althought, your information was also valid .
