Exhaust reducer question??

Hello Guys.
Im currently having a set of rear exit Zoomies built. Im using 1 3/4 inch tubing and we bent the end tube at a 90 degree and hes using 3 other 1 3/4 inch pieces that hes cutting and boring holes in the main pipe and welding them 1/4 inch apart so I can (after this is hung) add the 4 pipes coming outta the side and up with 4 chrome tips. Kinda looks like a 4 prong comb. LOL Like the Mad Max car on the movie.

Anyway. Im using a 3 inch exhaust all the way back till the exit pipe wich is 1 3/4 inch and coming out into 4 1 3/4 inch pipes. Do they make a reducer from 3 inch to 1 3/4 or will I need to rig up something??

What is the point of using 3" exhaust tubing if you are going to restrict it down to 1 3/4" at the outlet??? Don't believe anyone makes THAT reducer. Maybe a reversed header reducer? Four 1 3/4" pipes into 3" collector, just reverse it for this crazy fake zoomie idea

Why dont you just bore 4, 1 3/4" holes into the 3" pipe and weld them in? that would be the easiest to do.

Wouldn't cutting the end primary tubes and 4 into 1 collector off a old exhaust header work a lot easier to split the big main exhaust pipe in to 4 smaller pipes for the chromed zoomies. Wouldn't be so restrictive either.

Ive thought of using a merge collector that has a 3 inch opening going into 2 inch pipes, then 1 3/4 inch outlets, but the merge collector is pretty thick and my car is low, so I dont think there is much room.

Maybe Im wrong, but running 3 inch exhaust into 7 inches worth of outlet tubbing cant be that restrictive.....Right??

I know it slows the flow a little, but Im not looking for every ounce of horsepower outta this. I want a wild looking street ryde. HG

p.s. Eyerolls are for posts were someones obviously lying, not for honest questions. Tnx, HG

Four 1.5" I.D. tubes have the same cross-sectional area as one 3" I.D. tube, so you shouldn't be losing anything from size alone. The transition from the 3" tube to the four smaller ones was designed to flow the other direction, so you might lose some from turbulence, but that might could be addressed with some welding and grinding.

Somebody used to make a "flat-four" collector, but I can't remember who.

I think a couple of places make a megaphone exhaust tip. Maybe you could adapt this if I'm reading what you want.

Possibly you could get the muffler shop to expend a 1 3/4 x 2 out to 3 inches by staging the expansion. It's a long way to go however.

the last way would be to take a 3" section say 6" long and pie cut a piece out lengthwise and hammer form it down to 1 3/4 and weld up the seam. A lot of work however.

I guess it's how visual you want it.

Thanks 4 the replys.
Visual only matters to me after it comes outta the side and up to the tips.
I found some tips that look like the mad max cars. Slip on over 1 3/4 inch pipe and are 2 inches overall. 8 inches long.
I think it will look neat on the Gremmie. HG
