exhaust size help

I need some help on exhaust size. On a ~10.4:1 small block chevy, making 500-550 hp, what do you guys think for primary size and exhaust tubing size? I was think 1 3/4 header and 3 inch dual exhaust, what do you guys think?

re: exhaust size help

Depends on what the use is. If it is a quarter mile blaster I would say 1-3/4" headers, but small block Chevy's for street use usually like the 1-5/8" header better. I would go no bigger than 2-1/2" on the remaining exhaust system for street use. Too little restriction can be as bad as too much.

re: exhaust size help

sounds good to me man. I have dual 3" aswell, but only 1.5" primaries. I saw some nice Sanderson 1,3/4" headers for our trucks.
