Post Exhaust Suggestions

I have a 71 chevelle w/ a 454, I was looking for suggestions on the loudest possible exhaust system. I know flowmasters are good, but i want something that sounds like the world is coming to an end. Any suggestions?

purple horny glass packs will do the trick.

hahaha this is funy!! i was just like u my friend.. glass packs is the only way!! i had them on my 454 on my truck.. louder then harleys man!! still a nice deep tone to.. then i ended up going with flowmasters.. bit quieter.. all my toys are loud as possible... but this big block.. i was gona get in trouble so i swith to flowmasters.. i had dual 2.5" pipes with 4" tips.. out before the rear axle.. u gota relize also the longer your pipes are the quiter its gona sound.. make sure u got headers to! makes it soo much louder! and if the glass packs arnt enough for ya.. wut u can do is before puttign the glass packs on.. light em on fire.. burn out the packing.. then it looks legal still but is straight pipe! did this with my small block.. sounds awsome at idle.. but once u open it up its just rasp!! thats where mufflers make it sound good.. anyways.. hope this helps.. i'v gone thro so many exhuast systems... and tried lotsa ideas..

I personally don't care for the sound of glass packs. There's an in-exhaust muffler that supposed to be 50-state legal and sounds like your headers are uncapped. You can find them in any summit or jegs mag and sell for about 50 bucks a piece. They are louder than crap!!!! My uncle's friend has a blown achohol woodys that runs them, and it's deafiningly loud! I was thinking of using them, but my speed shop in town said that everyone that uses them gets pulled over for being too loud. Since it seems that you aren't worried about that, those would be the ones for you!!!! Good luck!

there is also cherry bomber mufflers..... and they're diffrent from glass packs..... and if u put resonator tips at the end of the exaust pipes and knock out the screens (there should be 2 in each tip) it acts like a bell and it will make it CACKLE more than glass packs....... i have them on my pickup..... and i love em'

Watch out for cops. They don't like loud. Neither do elderly neighbors.

Go with a single chamber flowy, I had 3" duals with single chambers on my 70 Nova. It did sound like the world was coming to the end, almost did as the fuzz had me pulled over every time I taped the throttlle.

My 70 Chevelle came from the factory with 2 1/2" exhaust pipe front to rear, no mufflers. BBC rule man!! very nice sound, I don't know if you will get away with that very long on a daily driver??

No BB Chevelle ever came from the factory with no mufflers.

What is the matter with you people. A great big loud racket does not mean your car is powerfull. I always liked that throaty sound that comes from a "real" powerfull motor, with as quiet a muffler as possible. Much more impressive than some big racket.

Personally, I think that the noise makes you think that your schlong is getting bigger............lol

Get some Flowtech Warlock mufflers. Then when the cop stops you for being too loud, you can crawl under the car & cap them right back up, and maybe, just maybe, he won't give you a ticket.

I Can atest to the one chamber flowmaster I had them on a mustang with 3 inch exhaust, the car was a nine second street car on nitrous, by no means bragging on the ET just saying the car was so loud with the 1 chambers, i took the radio out because i could not hear it with windows rolled up. also dynomax makes a bullet style muffler that is cheaper than the flow's i have heard them on lot's of supercharged mustangs and i like them also. both are in the jegs cat. please dont put glasspacks on it they should be outlawed the sound is so not fair to your exhaust.
