I did that on my '02 F-250 Powerstroke years ago, the turn down is abaout 10" away from the tire....didn't hurt a thing. What kind of car do you have?

I did that on my prostreet car, and wasn't very popular at a restaurant cruise in a dusty parking lot with the club guys with their just detailed rides!

Turn them out to the side some.

It gets old real quick. Noise/resonance inside the car. Fumes inside the car. Dust. Loud exhaust. Fogged up windows.
Get some or make some tail pipes.

I agree. If you're 'gonna drive it more than a few miles at a time you'll sure get tired of it fast.

If loud and stinky is your thing then it's all good.

No Gomer, you're the first to ever think of that.

They call them tail pipes for a reason.
Thats a clue.

Here, and other places too I imagine, it is illegal for your exhaust not to clear the outside edge of the body, for the fumes reason. If it clears the body in front of the wheel, it should get the fumes away from the body.

I didnt know your name was Gomer, or is one of our members being needlessly sarcastic????

HAHA FUNNY GUY...i have it out the back now, its loud behind but cant hear it in the car. i would like to hear it a bit more inside. the reason i asked about out the side is because i heard it will mess up rear wheels.

X3 with 68NovaSS and Prostreet6t9 on this or you can do it like mine and run them to the rearend and no turndowns just straight out the mufflers. JMO. mine has been like this for many years don't bother me a bit. but to each his own i recon.

Run it out from under the car. The fumes get annoying and it resonates inside which can get annoying. Also it can cause rust because pf the heat buildup. You could go in front of the rear tires put i'd point it straight out to the sides, not angled at the tires since that could get the tires pretty hot idling at a light or something. Out the back is the best option though and looks the best.
