Interro1,
Out here in CA in the small town of Stockton I go to a local muffler shop. He puts on everything for 200 dollars. He uses generic parts but every car he has installed the exhaust system on for me has passed the "sniffer" with no problems. You might check around your neck-of-the-woods and see if there isn't a local guy doing the same thing. Scholman |

hey 78 firebird.
if the car came without air tubes and air pump then most NC counties will inspect it if you have converters in front of your mufflers. most counties in NC do not even use a sniffer. the converters do not have to be functional just visible. i know this because i live in NC too. just buy you a 69 or older firebird and inspections arent even required.funny huh? good luck |

Wth.... Why would they even require you to have that? I thought if a car is 25yrs+, it is considered to be a grandfather car and doesn't require emmissions regulation.. That is certainly weird how they still require you to have a catalytic converter.
