expected power from a 455

i have a chance to get a olds 455 out of a 1973 delta 88 for real short money. the engine looks decent for its age and starts right up runs fine. what i want to know is if i decide to tear this thing down and rebuild it what kind of power could i expect out of it afterwards also does anyone know a good place to gets parts for it from, i checked with summit and they have the basics but not a lot of choices for it

if anyone has any info please let me know
thanks in advance

A Olds 455 is the holy grail of torque monsters, it`s a undersquare engine, and with the right vehicle and parts, it can make you king of the street. Mondello has always been a source for hi po olds parts.

As far as power levels go, I am unsure, but I would imagine it would be easy to get 400 horses out of it, and over 450 ft lbs of torque. with it`s long 4.250 inch stroke, torque is what this engine does best.
