Ext. and int. balanced rotating assemblies

Hei!
Can I use int. balanced rotating assembly in block where used to be ext. balanced assembly.
Is it possible to use stock 1-pc rear main seal on older(pre-'87?) sbc block?
Is there any performance difference between int. and ext. balanced assemblies? Which should I prefer?

Block is 350(383) sbc.
Thank you!

The blocks don't make any difference at all. To get a two peice to work with a one piece you'll need an adaptor available form speeday motors and the like.

But a one piece rear crank won't fit an early two piece block. As for internal vs external balance= No real difference unless you are making over 750 horse and turning 8000 plus rpm.

re: Ext. and int. balanced rotating assemblies

So I have to go with 2-pc crank in old style block and internal is better? Correct?
