Yeah thick black with silver stripe, looks pretty beefy...what can I do to keep from overheating if this diode fails?

its a 59 chevy truck, mine and I like to drive it a lot so I want to make sure its not going to fail on me on the side of the road

Run Led In Cab Pos Side Of Led To Pos Side Of Fan After Doide Before Fan And Ground To Ground When Fan Is On Led Will Be On Install Switch As A Back Up If Diode Fails And Light Goes Out You Can Flip Switch In Cab And Turn On Fan Direct Or Run Through Relay To Break Harness And Power Direct So Two Ways To Have Back Up Your Choice Relay Has To Be A Dual Hope You Get This All

If I just dont use a diode all together would a relay act as a break in the system when the engine is shut off? I think I have some 70amp relays that would be much stronger than these diodes

Relays R Always Better Thats Way All Cars Have Switched To Them And They R Easy To Find Diodes R Getting Harder To Find And Not Made As Well As Years Ago
