Hey all, I'm putting a 350 sbc with a 350 turbo trans in a 49 Ford truck. I'm setting the engine and trans in to fabricate the motor mounts. When I set the tail of the trans where I think it should be, the motor sits so low that the fan isn't close to be centered in relation to the radiator. When I raise the engine to get the fan correct, the tail of the trans seems pretty high. To get the trans to mount to the crossmember , I would have to have a really big spacer, or flip the crossmember over. I've seen sbc's in these trucks with the engines sitting high with the fan correct, but I don't know how the trans is mounted or if they had to modify the firewall . I've also seen them sit low, but it seems like the fan sits too low. Has anyone done one of these??
