f body rear

someone offered me a newer model f body rear, im not sure of the year, mid 90's its a posi, is this an 8.5 inch? is it possible for me to weld my spring pearches on as long as i measure it out properly? this also comes witha full rear disk setup, i guess i would just need to change the proportioning valve this guy only wants like 150 bucks, if i t can be done i will get it, and was the gear ratio on these posi's a 2.73?

I would definetily buy the rear end. even if you have the brackets professionally welded in you will be many hundreds ahead of buying an aftermarket rear set up for your car

I think the 3rd gen Camaros used a 7.5. Some were 2.73, some were not. Pop the top & look on the edge of the ring gear for the tooth count on the gearset. Divide the big number by the small one to get the ratio. Posi will have an S-shaped spring (or a couple of coil springs) inside the window of the diff. Oh, and if it's not what you want, look up stupid4901 on this board, he may be looking for one like that.
