I am building a 1948 F1 right now I have just finished the frame build. I am building this on a tight budget and could not afford to drop over a grand on a IFS weld in kit. So I hunted around the junk yard and trying to stay with Ford parts only. I found that a 2000 Ford Ranger has the same frame width as the 48. So I cut from the firewall forward off the ranger and grafted it into my F1 frame. I have fully boxed in the old frame and placed 3/8” plate over the butt joints. Attached are a few pictures.
