Fabrication Sheet metal Help???

I have seen this type of Stamped pattern in say a piece of chrome sheet metal, Looks like its half moon going all which way but in sequence, really neat stuff! Where do I purchase this stuff at? I have seen it on firewalls and also seen it on top of the grill to enclose when you open up your hood, Thanks in advance, Dana

re: Fabrication Sheet metal Help???

Eastwood sells kits for $23-29 to do the engine turning- also I saw an add selling premade panels somewhere in one of my latest magazines- (they are not cheap)

re: Fabrication Sheet metal Help???

i always thought that was a pretty cool look so 1 day while fabricating an aluminum exhaust shield for a race car i got the idea to try something.
i used a 1/4" air powered die grinder with a 2" roloc disc & just lightly buffed a circle in one corner then tilted the grinder a little & overlayed 1/2 circles on down the line all across the piece.
move down 1 1/2 inches & do it across again. then again.
you can adjust the amount of overlay to change the look.
with a little practice it comes out great.
i've never told anybody i do it for how i do it but they all love the look. it's kinda been my signature ever since...mel
