Fairlane disc brake conversion

I have a 67' Fairlane and was hoping for some info on disc break conversions. I've seen some people around the net suggest using "Grenada" brakes but Ive never even heard of the car/ cant find anything near home, same for the older mustangs. I've also seen people using Ford Explorer disc breaks in the rear and that just confused me. Im pretty much learning all of this for the first time and really need some help. I would appreciate any knowledge or suggestions on this cause I would rather spend the seven or so hundred dollars on something other than a new kit from Summit or some other parts dealer..
