Fake Patina?

Anyone have a link to a guide on how to create a fake patina paint job?

I know it's probably frowned upon, but my son and I really dig the patina look and are interested in perhaps going that route with our truck.

As always, thanks in advance!

I have seen it done a few different ways, but the best I have seen for lifespan was where the lady (yep lady) had applied a few different base colors, and wet sanded them until she had a worn look, and then cleared the whole car with a flat clear. Looked old and faded, primer showing through, but with flat clear it still had a worn look but will take the elements just like any other paint job.

That makes sense and sounds easy enough to do. I wonder how much time I'd have to do the sanding before clear coat? I think there is a window of time that needs to be adhered to with BC/CC systems.
