false guide replacement

I have the equipment to install bronze guide liners and have done it for years with no problems. However, now I have a collection of heads that have had the orginal guides drilled out and replaced with thick walled false guides. Can I installed the guide liners in the false guides or should i buy the correct driver and installed thick wall false guides? Many sources say that installing thin wall liners is the prefered way for engines like BBC's so I don't see why it won't work in other engines.

Should work great. The only problems I have with it is some random cracking at the seal area, if they are cut for .500" aftermkt seals. Most of this can be prevented by installing, broaching from the chamber side.

Yes, cracking the guide was one of my concerns. My other concern would be with spiral guides if the boring tool didn't cut deep enough to remove the spiral would this cause any problems?
