Fan Belt Tensioner?

Well, actually what I need is an A/C compressor belt tensioner for a SBC with a Zips water pump riser. The compressor is on a belt by itself and the Zips mount does not allow for a lot of adjustment. Is there a tensioner that bolts to the engine mount bolts on the front (passenger side of the crank) and would push the belt toward the centerline? And where would I get one?

Hopefully the picture explains the need.

Thanks,

Dan

it looks like the AC mount has a slot it in if for adjustment right? If thats the case save the time and money and take your belt off, figure out how much shorter you need it to be able to tighten up all the way with the set up you have, and head down to your local auto parts store and start comparing belts, looks like its just a regular ol V belt, and you just need it an inch or two shorter, there is a way to tell how long a belt is by the part number, but I forgot that about ten minutes after i was taught it

Thanks for the response 71 c-10

The problem is that the adjustment rotates the compressor, with also rotates the refrigerant lines toward the engine. There are slots in the mount which move the whole unit out (away from the center line), but I already have it out as far as it will go.

Also, the slot in the brace rotates the AC pulley around the WP pulley, but does not tighten the belt, it just moves it to another (worse) position. That's why I'm thinking tensioner will help in the future. Even if I can get a belt to fit now I'm thinking I won't be able to adjust it in the future.

Thanks.
