I drove my buddies new 2005 Viper last night, man was that thing Frigggggn Fast!! That has to be the fastest production car I have ever driven. Just cant get over how much power it has, I believe its about 550hp. This car was pulln thru all 5 gears, yea I never made it to 6th. 150mph in 5th was fast enough for me. The steering on this thing was tight, and if you ever over corrected you would be done for. What a great experience, if anyone has the opportunity don't pass it up.

P.S. Don't get me wrong I would take a nice 30s Streetrod any day over a Viper, unless of course $$ was not an object, then I would have one of each.

1964 Nova road racer, 331" SBC with a 2-bbl carb. California licensed and street legal. Buried the 160 speedo on the road out of Zacatecas, Mexico.

The new C6 ZO6 Vette beat out both the Viper and the new Ford GT in a recent Motor Trend test. Quarter mile, braking, 0-60, 0-100, 0-150, skid pad, and at a fraction of the cost of the Viper and the GT.

In 1966.........my lawyer friend had a 65 Shelby Cobra....427 roadster....yes...one of those...
I was 18......

I was at a party.....and the lawyer was about drunk.....not stupid sloppy drunk but past the legal limit. He asked me to take him home......we got in that Cobra and went down the Interstate about 25 miles. I was at about 120 when I saw the flashing lights......in front of me...had a car stopped....too late then.....so I mashed on down........

I honestly do not know how fast I was doing........but with NO TOP, in the dark, no helmet or goggles.. and in a car that I was not used to.....MAN......we were flying. I was too busy to look at the speedometer. Went down two more exits than I needed to....and doubled back thru the country and put the Cobra in his garage........
What a night....

He sold the Cobra in 1994 or 95......for $600,000
He offered it to me in the early 70's for 5 grand.......but I was more interested in other things...at the time........and 5 grand was a TON of $$$ ...back then...
