what do you consider completely stock?
baldwin motion worked with the factory.
and yenko and others like yenko had cars that were...... "dealer installed original"
or are you only talking about cars that don't fit into the aforementioned group.

well... I don't know what it's official 1/4 time was... but I do know that it was fast enough that most insurance companies refused to insure it.
I would have to say the 1969 Yenko Nova SS 427 has my vote.

I want to say the 1964 belvidere w/426 max wedge & dual 4 barrels. Supposedly rumored to have a garauntee to run 12's or something like that.

A close second is probably the 1965/66 buick gs 425 nailhead. 13 second timeslip right from the factory.

Then of course you get into the GTO's, hemi chargers, hemi GTX's, big block camaros, 327 powered novas, and ford cammers, which are all really quick cars.

I can't find a 1/4 on my 1969 yenko 427 nova ss...
but it's 0-60 was just under 4 seconds.

according to a book I have...
the ten fastest muscle cars from 1968 to 1974 (I know you said pre 1970 but you'll see that #1 is pre70)
1. 1968-1969 corvette 427/435hp
2. 1968-1971 dodge / plymouth hemi
3. 1970 buick gs stage 1 455
4. 1969 1/2 road runner / super bee 440-6v
5. 1970 chevelle ss454 ls-6
6. 1971 corvette ls-6
7. 1970 corvette lt-1 350/370 hp
8. 1968 hurst / olds 455/390 hp
9. 1969 pontiac gto ram air 4
10. 1970 oldsmobile 4-4-2 w-30

the 1969 chevelle yenko 427 was 11.94 @ 117.95
and we all know that the nova is a smaller car, so with the same engine and drivetrain in a smaller lighter car........ you get where I'm going.

68 Hemi-Cuda

If we are including such exotics as Yenkos and Baldwin Motion machines, I would have to say the 68 Hemi-Cuda with the race hemi would be king of the 1/4 mile. I don't have any published times, but I think that's pretty well a no-brainer.

I don't think I'd consider Baldwin Motion, Yenko, etc. Completely stock. They're not.. a completely stock car to me anyways would have to be one that rolled off the assembly line, untouched by any other companies. Otherwise its not Stock.

fast muscle cars of the 60's

What no Cobra's in there? I guess it depends on who
is making up the list. Ford had a lightweight Fairlain in there too?? How about the Chevelle's with the 402's in them?? Just where did you get that list from toddtheodd??

Whoa guys! I thought we were talking about cars that you could just walk down to the dealer and buy

I forgot the 1966 A/C Cobra and the ford thunderbolt on my list earlier.
