Wow Dave, that sucks!

I will take off with the family on a Saturday morning having no idea where I will stay that night! We take off with a binder FULL of things we could see, often only seeing a small amount, but there isn't but a few hours at a time that we aren't seeing something. We will have a few biggies, I usually in my head will have one thing, just one thing that the whole vacation is for. That one thing, it was all worth it, all the other stuff is bonus. We have taken off like that and driven 6000 miles and I am still not happy to be home. If I hit the lotto I don't think about what I would buy, I think about what I would experience. I honestly could stay on the road for months and drive around this country, I would LOVE that!

Years & years ago, we went to one of those "all inclusive resorts" for a 12 day stay - I left and flew home on the 3rd day.

So - worst vacation car? Any car I was coerced into taking a vacation with!
At least you didn't take this cruise.....

And my job had me constantly hopping on & off airplanes, going to "all over the damn world". That was regarded as a "perk".

Bosses could not understand why I always went there, got the job done and came straight home, while others seemed to "need" to take 5 days for certain job - I'd be on a plane home the same day.

Well Dave, we are different. When I worked in the North Sea, 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off, I'd just cash my airline ticket and hang out travelling around in Europe instead of flying home.

When I graduated (actually each time, for all 3 degrees!) I was given a European trip as a graduation present.

Each time, I sold the tickets and gave my parents back the $$$$.

60 something econoline van, California to louisiana, Twelve of us just foam in the back. Before leaving Cali we kids painted with water colors all over van peace signs, Louisiana or bust etc. etc., never forgot the two girls somewhere in Texas in a bug racing alongside asking if we had a joint huh.. my straight lace dad just laughing. The battery boiling the whole time could barley breath as the battery was just behind driver seat. we stopped at rest areas to sleep, probably the best part of trip, you could actually sleep on the pic nick benches and be safe even with the girls in tow. and the fire flies were a site to see.Yea hated that van, but would give you know what for it now. Oh yea forgot to ad first time i ever drove on the highway the panhandle was raining so hard i could barely see dad said just keep driving. what a different time
