Favorite Street Converter
I don't know how to do a poll so I'll just ask outright.
What converter have you guys used for the street, I've got a blown 383, I won't lay out all the specs needed for a recommendation here, just curious about different brands and how they performed. I'm looking for something in the 3200 to 3600 rpm range, mostly street use at 'around town' speeds in front of a T-400. I got a recommendation from TCI but that guy was bizaar, recommended a 10" 4600 stall. Thanks, Larry |

I've got a Precision Industries Vigilante 9.5" single disc LU with a #6 pump (3400 stall) in my truck and it behaves like a stocker until you nail it. My engine is a low RPM (6200 rev limiter) turbo motor which builds some awesome low-end torque, so your setup should be similar.
My only *complaint* if you'd call it that, is the shift light (5600) stays on continuously when you nail it! It only drops 800 revs between shifts, so I'm thinking I could run better with a tighter converter. Russ |

I build my own converters at my trans shop. Tailored to the individual customer. All stall speeds and configurations available.
Help is only a PM away. |

I have a B&M 2800 holeshot. Had it taken apart. New heavy duty stator and anti-balooning plates installed.
