Fb 396...How much hp ??

Man!!..You Guys Are Great!!!...Thanx again for all of your info!! I live in a 'poor' neighboorhood. I Have No Access to a Dynomometer. I don't think anybody over here even knows what the word means. Can any of you tell me ('best-guess') about How Much Hp/torque This Thing Will Make? This Is It...stock-bore '67 396 2-bolt Main Block (from A '67 Chevelle SS, 4-speed), Stock Pistons (w/small 'dome'), Crank/rods Stock, '72-'74 454 Heads With 2.19/1.88 Valves (were 2.06/1.72), Weiand 'Stealth' Intake, .566/.566 Hyd. Cam, 1.7 stamped steel Roller-tip 'cheepo' Rockers, Holley 750 'dbbl-pumper' Carb, Summit HEI, 'cheepo' Headers, Electric Fuel Pump,....I Think Thats It. I'm guessing 425-450hp Is this close?.....Thanx Fellas..

Hard to tell unless you post the head casting numbers, but you're being very optimistic.

First of all, pre-1972 engines were rated at gross HP. By today's standards, a 400-hp engine now makes about 300 hp.

Secondly, swapping to the later heads dropped your compression significantly. We also have no way of knowing what cam specs you have. The lift numbers tell us very little. Do you know the duration?

My honest guess with what you've posted is no more than 350 hp.
