Fender flange fabrication *spoken 3 times fast

I've got a 41 Chevy Pickup and the rear fenders are kinda.... yeah. The flange that mounts onto the bedsides is pretty rotten and I'm havin trouble seeing how to make a metal replacement flange (plus 1-2" of the top side) out of 1 or more pieces. Just wondering if anyone has come across an article or old ideas on how to replace this part.

Any pictures? This might be a good project for a mechanical shrinker...or a hammer form.

Simple - Sheet metal bent at 90degrees and use a shrinker strecher setup to get the correct curve

With this tool I made several patches for my 49 Hudson it would have been tough to make otherwise...
