A few noises

hey i just wanted to get some opinions on a few things i'm noticing with my car.... engine has about 30,000 miles (350) cam has about 10,000 as well as carb intake and lifters. headers have about 5,000 miles, roller rockers have 1,000 ...... i'm getting a ticking noise at rpms above 1,000. When i drive next to a wall on the freeway i can here it... and when i let off the gas i can here it. I used my stethoscope and i can't here it coming from the valve covers.... any ideas...
When i take a turn going right my engine kind of stumbles, this started about a month ago.. fuel pump is new and the tank varies from being full to low.... does it no matter how full the tank is.
Another sound i hear is like a tick tick tick ... then 2 seconds of silence... tick tick tick... 2 seconds of silence... sounds like it's coming from the timing cover area.
I just wanted to get opinions from you guys because maybe you all have come across stuff like this from time to time. If you need more info just ask and i'll toss it on here, Thanks in advance.

on the exhaust leaks question..... i thought i was hearing some leaks so i replaced the gaskets about a month ago. I think i can still hear a slight leak..... but not sure.. for the feel test the fan was pushing too much air and i couldn't feel anything. So i converted to dual electric fans and did the feel test and i can't feel any leaks. I heard something about pouring a few drops of atf in the carb and it'll smoke out the leaks? ....?
As fo the carb thing. I beleive it is a carb issue because this morning when i would give it a little gas it would fall on it's face then go then fall..... and it was warm... it didn't pop like the timing was off... so i'm taking that piece of $%^#@$ edelbrock off this weekend.. thanks for the info. if you got any more.. let me know, thanks.

i can't find my edelbrock manual .... how do i adjust the float?

I pulled off the edelbrock, cleaned it all out. Put it back on... same crap. 2 days later i try to start it and it wouldn't run. It would turn on, sound really beefy then instantly shut off. Fuel pressure was great... no vacuum leaks. So i pulled it off set it on the counter. Bought a 750 holley. And poof just like that my problems disappeared. It's a hell of a lot more responsive and i can feel a major power difference. Oh and it looks way better. GO HOLLEY!!!
