few questions 28 roadster project

im building a 28 roadster old school style, model a frame 4" kick, and channelling the body 4", i was considering using a car that i can buy for most of the powertrain, mustang 2, it has a 302 auto but the rear end is 4 bolt, i can run 14" wheels front and back, bias whitewalls, but will the 4 bolt rear be a problem? should i just maybe go anouther set up with a chevy powertrain?any suggestions ?

I love Roadsters........

The main issue I see with your plan, at least for me, is that with the 4 lug wheels.........your wheel selection is very limited. The rear end should work and stand up..it did in the donor car........which would be heavier....and therefore more prone to breakage.

I prefer a 8 inch or 9 inch Ford as do most rodders. They have 5 lug wheel patterns available ( some 8 inchers came with 4 lugs... ) and they are very easy to work on.

The center section is also easily changed so gear ratios can be changed.

A 9 inch would be almost unbreakable in a light car.
I have one under my 32 Ford Roadster.

A 9 inch is prino, but an 8.8 inch out of an Explorer or later Mustang would be pretty good too.....

i was going to use 5 bolt front , the 4 bolt then rear, with 14" rims steels with wide whites and just go with red powderrims..i have a 9" but its way to wide and i can buy this donor car for the cost of shortening my rear end...

You might consider redrilling the 4 bolt axles and drums to use a five lug pattern to match the front.
