A few questions about a Caddy 425

First of all, I have a 78 Caddy Coupe DeVille with a 425.

1.) It idles rough about half of the time. Usually after it warms up, but sometimes right after a cold start as well. What might cause this? I'm guessing vacuum leak, but I have little to no experience in this area. (This will be my first project car.)

2.) Just to clarify, dress up parts for a 454 should fir the 425, right?

3.) Would this motor be worth putting the time and money into, or should I just find myself a nice 500 to drop in?

a 454 is a chevy not a caddy

455 stuff some will interchange with 425

carb is probably an E4ME depending on the year, they are default very rich running if not connected to the spark timing module EST or ESC system. this wasin 1980 up only though

i had a 79 caddy6 door white limo with awesome running 425 and th400 trans and the big oddball 10/12 bolt 2.21 ratio axle in it. i drove it smoe then wrecked it purposely into trees and other cars i had at the time then yanked the engine and trans out

i fired it up on the round a few times to let it run i have pics somewhere of all this,
still had the y pipe and cat converter on it so it was quiet and smooth even on the ground

Basically, I'm just wondering if the external things would fit, like a dress up kit, for example.

A 425 Cadillac has no external parts in common with a 454 Chevy except the distributor cap. There are dress up kits specifically for the 425/472/500 Cadillacs.
