Few questions on paint for my blazer

I want my blazer to look like an old hot rod. I want to do a flat black bellow the body line and do a flat red above the body line. Like a red primer. But I plan to leave it like that. How can I get a flat red look? Could I get red primer sealer and some flat black and then clear over it?

Oh and how much do you think it would cost for black and red primer sealer?

you have the right idea on how to do it. remember to add some crap or other i can't think of the name of right now to the clear, so it won't be so glossy. flattener? call around your area for prices, some primer/sealers go for as high as a couple hundred dollars a gallon.....

Paint it the desired base colors and shoot a couple coats of PPG DCU2060 "flexed and flat" clear. Based on the % of gloss you want, you can mix this with DCU2021 or DCU2002 clears (and possibly others) to get just the look you're after. Do a test panel and allow it to dry to see what the results will be.

Here is the exact way I want to do it. I forgot to add I wanted a white pinestpripe above the body line. So to get a flat look I can get any black base coat or do I need a satin or sueade black base coat?
