Fiberglass Fenders

I am currently seeking information on installing fiberglass fenders on my '72 Nova. I have the fenders, but there is a section of steel that runs below the fender where the hood hinges attach. It seems to be welded to the existing steel fender. How do I remove it from the steel fender without damaging it? and How do I bond it to the new fiberglass component so it makes a solid unit and doesn't rattle and crack?

Please help!

Thanks!

i don't think those fenders are designed for Metal/hinged hoods. IMO if you want to use fiberglass fenders, use a fiberglass hood and inner fenders also.

Glass

I am actually installing a latch-front 2 1/4 inch fiberglass cowl induction hood and fiberglass inner fenders as well, but since the hood is front latching, it still requires hinges, which attach presently to the metal reinforcements below the fenders.
