fiberglass hood
 

I ordered a fiberglass hood from unlimited products, and i recently heard that they're products arnt of very high quality. things like not fitting very well and the fiberglass pattern showing through the paint. I was just interested in hearing if anyone else had problems with them or if they worked out well. thanks

I used one of their hood scoops on
our car. It may not be as ridgid as I
would have liked but it has not given any
problems to date. Has been installed about
six months. The fiberglass pattern is not
showing through it. This is just my experience.
The fit seemed to be ok for a universal
type product.

I haven't purchased from them...but I did want to convey something I read in an article about an entire tilt-front-end that someone was installing on an early model Ford truck.

Apparently after they had everything setup on the truck, the lines weren't matching how they should have. They called the manufacturer, and they recommended removing the metal braces, and cutting the fiberglass piece, getting it lined up and then re-glassing it.

Sounds pretty scary when you're paying $600 + for a nice fiber piece.

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that this is the nature of the beast when you are dealing with companies that manufacture this stuff.
