Fiberglass hood repair

Hey guys,
I got a great deal on a fiberglass cowl induction hood for my Camaro but the guy that had it before me drilled to holes in the hood over the cowl for hood pins, he didn't have hinges. My question is what is the best way to repair this? My thought was to Glass the backside of the hood then grind the top down so that fibergalss could be used and not create a high spot then use body filler to get it perfect. If any of you have a better idea please share it. I want to make a repair that is going to last.
I can post pics of the area I need to repair if that will help.
Thanks

fiberglass repair

I would put a small patch of mat on the underside of the hole. Then I would fill the hole with fiberglass putty. Then fill in the rough spots with finish putty.

I 2nd that procedure.

It's 'Glass,Screw up, Just grind and patch.

This hood flew off the top of the car from a high wind and broke the corner about 2" below the rear pin hole. Can you tell "exactly" where??
While your at it,mold some "extra" layers into those tip ends on the back. Those are REALLY thin and this will strengthen those tip's.
