Fiberglass T-Bucket Body?

What can be done to the basic 23 T bucket body to make one more unique? Is it possible to make one into a chopped coupe? I realize the T bucket body has the sides lowered, so the molding line is not straight like a coupe. Are the body dimensions about the same size? Has anyone tried this, or am I crazy??? Thanks, for the great site and any help!..loojack

Fiberglass T-Bucket Body?

Interesting idea. The coupe body does have a bigger passenger compartment then the bucket but that is not to say that you can't cut up a bucket and make it bigger. If you check out grapro's Journal you will find that he built a hardtop for his T bucket.

I've seen metal roadster cowls mated to coupe rear quarters but done as a roadster. I've also seen T coupes with the roof cut off to make a roadster.

Check out what Big Daddy Roth did with some of his cars to get some inspiration as well.

In rodding if there is a will there is always a way. Try photo chopping, either with the computer or the old fashioned way by photocopying pics of both body styles and cutting them up and gluing them back together, and see what you can come up with. Post your results and get some feed back. Good luck.

Fiberglass T-Bucket Body?

Hey loojack, noticed your post on the HAMB. Here's a T bucket that was done in the 60's. Could give you some inspiration.

Thanks Home Brew! That's one wild looking rod! I'm still in the planning stage yet. Fabing the frame and plumbing the brakes and such shouldn't be a problem(I hope!). I've build several dirt track stock cars, so I have some experence. Finding a body that I like is what I'm working on. Thanks again..loojack
