fiberglassforums.com dead?

so sad

fiberglassforums.com has gone away. i found the fiberglassforums site when i started my interior build. i learned a lot from the experienced guys on the forum. i went there to learn the how to on building a sub box behind the seat on my 58 truk.

it snowballed from a sub box to a complete fiberglass interior for my 58. the old moderator sold the site to someone he thought would carry the site on. sadly the new moderator did less and less with the site and finally closed it last month. i knew nothing about glass when i joined fgf.com 8 yrs ago.

my fiberglass interior

kicks

sub enclosure and arm rest

console, dash facia and column cover

door panels

seat pedestals

tonneou cover

radiator cover

it is amazing what you can do with sticks, cardboard and a little resin

are you sure it's dead, or just taken off line.. their servers could've been in moore or in that area..
a few other sites I've tried since have been off line also.

I 'joined' that site a few months ago, but never got the e-mail necessary to activate my membership - numerous e-mails to them asking for help, with no response. It's a shame, sounded like it would have been a good site.

It's dead...I noticed a couple weeks ago. Too bad, the archives were pretty good. I did notice that the number of posts had been declining and it seemed like most of the "good" contributors bailed along time ago.

the new owner stopped replying to new members wanting to join a 6-8 mths back, with out any new members to ask questions the posting just dropped off. he also refused to give any moderator supreme control over the site and eventually quit responding to moderators. a few of us offered to financially help out.

ogre...do you have a step by step build of your interior items? Very good work sir. I've done a fan shroud and kick panels on my truck and looking to do a headliner and behind the seat as you did. Again...good work

That is some outstanding workmanship. you truly have a gift. I have about 12 pounds of fiberglass cloth, in a roll about 12 inches high. It kicked around in my shop for a couple of years now. If any of you could use this cloth. pm me and it's yours. I'm still looking that little pedal it's driving me nuts.

i did have a step by step... in fiberglassforums.com
i do have lots of pics in photobucket your welcome to view them
no surprises there, i.e. nude pics of ogre
lots of pics that take you step by step thru my build

beware... fiberglass can be addicting

to the rest of you that commented: thanks, it was a labor of love
many hrs of sitting and thinking of the framework to support what i wanted to make
i have used cardboard mailing tube and hot glue to fab some frames
others were mdf cutouts and sticks wrapped in t-shirt fabric and glassed over that ''structure''
