Fiero Compression test....what should the #'s be?

Im about to do a compression test, i know the numbers should be fairly close, but how high should they be, like 110+ or what? 2.8 L....1986 Fiero Se.

I would imagine they should be higher than that. At least 130+.

That sounds pretty low - were all the cylinders the same psi? You only want a 10% variance between cylinders.

Bout ready to do it now, had to pull the plugs, the plugs toward the front are a PITA to get with big hands

Ok i just ran the test....after seeing the results you know what i must do lol....








Starting toward the front of the car working across it goes...


55/145/100

Starting at the back (drivers side) of the car working across it goes....


130/125/90


Time for my to look for my LT1 OR 3800 w/turbo or blower.

There's a guy with a Buick 3.8L turbo in a Fiero that goes to my local dragstrip. It runs 12's and looks bone stock - impressive sleeper. I'm jealous.

yup, its shot. Too bad really, I'll bet you could get that little 2.8 to go pretty fast in a fiero. It would probably be a fun project.

Yeah, you can always see 1 or 2 of those things at MIR, air they always seem to pull mid 12's.
