Fighting Cancer...

Hey guy's.. Just spent a few days with a older friend of mine, He's been fighting cancer for about four years now,, He has a wife and two boy's,, Not only was he a good friend, He was also the last boss I had,, Great guy,,, Not really sure why these things have to happen, And most of all to some on the best people we meet or Love... I seen first hand what this Cancer can do to someone...

A few years back I had my Brother-in-law go in to get a mole checked out on his back, Never would think something was wrong with this guy.. He wasn't hurting or anything,,, Well the Doctor told him he had Cance and didn't have long to live,,,

They tried treating him and in less then a year he was gone,,
Before he left us,, I had lunch with him and his words to me was One trip to the doctor can change your life for ever,,

He looked me in the eye and said,, It is what it is little brother,,

This is a evil thing,, Stealing people from us everyday... Sorry guy's I had to get this off my mind...Randy

My wife went through a fight with Cancer about 3 years ago. This is a lifelong battle as far as I'm concerned.

Thankfuly she is still with me. I spend all my time with her now.

Try to be with your friend and support him as much as you can.

My heart goes out to anyone fighting this nasty problem.

Well, since we are on this subject, I would like to remind all of you over 50 to get a Colonoscopy if you haven't! I put it off (I'm tough after all, you know!) and I went and had my first one two weeks ago (I was a virgin )-all clear, (have 10 Years off! Yay!)-

You won't be sorry, and it does give you piece of mind-get it done!

Thanks guy's.. This is something I wish they could find the cure for, Sad thing is the treatments they have will do just as much harm as good.. There has to be a better way.... With the technology we have today to do ANYTHING,, I just don't get it..

I have a memorial in my garage with the friends that I have lost, way too soon. All of them car guys, photos of them with their hot rods. Life is so precious, so precious.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend Randy, and it isn't easy on family or friends like you either, sounds crazy when they are the ones dying but the pain it brings to family and friends is pretty heavy. God bless you all.

Brian

to much money in treatment for them to cure it.
if and when we are all forced into a single payer healthcare (ie government run) then it'll come out of the wood work as it be cheaper to have the cure, but as long as companies can make billions on treatment, no matter what they say, they don't want to have a cure.
not many doctors die from it. just say'n

Believe me... I know they have a cure...
The say thing is not only what it does to you, But what it does to the ones that have to watch this kill you... It also kills the family and friends as well, Little by little.. My friends wife told me she is just sitting there watching her husband fade away in front of her eyes...

I asked her how is she holding her self together through this,, She said only by the grace of God...

My friend held my hand and said to me,, Rock !!!! No one should have to go through this..

Sorry guy's.. I'll be back later..

Prayers for your friend, his family and for you Randy. God be with you all. I'm here for you just as you've been here for me.

Watched Grandpa pass away from cancer. Its a horrible thing. Puts the fear in me, wondering how I will go one day...

I just had to reply to this. I have been to Scott and White two times in the past. These things are an experience. Didn't have much of a clue what was gonna happen the first time. Once and you won't forget. My question is, did you tough it out or was you put to sleep? Back then we toughed it out. We railroader's called it the stove pipe. I think the norm is to be put under now. Happy to hear the all clear was given.

Ok, I will admit it-I was a Pu$$y, they put me out-they say the "Prep" is the worst part, and it is true-although, at the end of the day I realized that I didn't even get a kiss......

Seriously, though, other than not eating for a day and a half it wasn't bad at all, but when that cute nurse tells you to strip your eyes get this big.....
