Hey I've got a couple of really nice early chevy rear wheel houses if you know anyone that needs them. They're super solid. I was going to adapt them over and use on the plymouth but I got it squared away.

Hey badbob-

I dont mean to hijack 1930u's thread...... but i had a question about using the anti-flutter foam....I'm replacing a roof skin on a 68 camaro and wondered if I could apply the anti-flutter foam on the roof bracing before I lay the new roof skin on? If a lay a small bead, about 1/8 " thick, along the bracing will that suffice or does the foam need to be injected in the brace-to-skin gap after the roof skin is installed?

I'm thinking if I lay the bead on the bracing then install the roof skin before the flutter foam dries I will be OK. Is this correct?

Thanks for your help.

You can use it either way-before the skin goes on or after. Testfit the skin and check your gaps to see what thickness of bead needs to be applied. have a helper ready to install the skin and clamp it asap.

From the factory these cars had a tar paper like sound deadener up there and the bracing wasn't glued to the skin. Evercoat makes some slick self adhesive sound deadening pads that work well for this-simply stick them to the bottom side of the skin before you install it. I've used them a few times now and they work well. Clean the skin with a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water before you apply the pads. Helps tone down the drum effect you get with only a cloth headliner. Bob

Gang,

Did some research on the Plymouth roof opening today. It's a really big opening 43"X43", so a Cavelier roof won't work, but a late model Crown Victoria looks like it may work out. I'm going to leave the roof open as long as I can to sand blast and the extra light is nice for fab work inside. Once I'm back on the chassis and everything is shimmed and adjusted, I'll try to weld the roof in. I'll close this post for now and let you know how it works out in a few weeks.

Thanks for the good words.
