filter for air line

i bought a water filter from harbor freight, but took it back, it leaked. i was wondering what about a water filter that you can buy for your house. i looked at home depot and it was made out of thick plastic , it was 20 bucks plus filter, i would put it at the end of the line. i put 3/4 black pipe around the room in the garage and have a water trap and regulator in each corner with drain legs. for air tools. the filter would be for sand blasting and painting. thanks for any input.

Somewhat of a misnomer. The water separator (not filter) for your airline is to remove water from the air. Your home depot filter is to remove dirt from your water. Not to mention that the filter probably would blow out at airline pressure.

Not the same thing at all and a water filter does not even apply here, what you need is a water SEPARATOR and air filter after that. This is a good bassic outfit here,

Not to be confused with a full fledged drier it will still work quite well as a filter/separator when used with a properly plumbed air system and is one of the best on the market.
