Final sealer fixes

Hi guys,

I have used ppg dp50lf epoxy primer on the parts as the base primer. Once it was sealed I used a primer surfacer to get ride of sanding scratches etc.. When I was satisfied with the look and feel of the panel I put the final ppg seal coat over that. But I noticed that after I applied the final seal coat that some minor spots I missed appeared. Can I just use spot putty on the area and sand then reseal that spot only?

I intend on wet sanding the final seal coat with 600 grit paper to get rid of the minor orange peel.

You guys and this site have help me out a TON on how to paint and diagnose "gun issues" I can now spray with very little peel on the primers.

Bob

I wouldn't use the one step spot putty. I'd use a catalyzed glaze, it won't shrink later on down the road like the one step spot putty will. i would try and scuff the sealer a little bit to make certain the glaze has something to bite to.

sorry bad terminoligy , I did mean the catalyzed glaze putty. Although I hate using that stuff, it seams like it creates more work than it solves. But that is probably me. just wanted to be sure it is ok to putty then seal minor spots. i did try it and once its sanded you cant tell where i laid more sealer down.
