Hello guys-
After a very long and stressful build I have come down to two last issues I need to resolve and I would like some input.
1. I installed a high flow water pump and complimented it with a hight flow t-stat (Miloden). The blower manifold does not have any provisions for the by-pass hose for a BBC. So, I planned on drilling a few holes around the t-stat, but after taking a look at it, there is not enough room around the perimeter to drill any holes. Hmmmmmm. So, I guess I will get a regular t-stat and drill and use it. Will it be OK to use a normal flow stat with a hight flow water pump?
2. Timing. Can't decide if I should go with locked out timing (28-32 range) with a 10-15 deg start retard. I do have a BTM, so should I just lock it out and give her as much initial as it want's? Or, set a curve 16-24 deg initial, with a total of 32-36? I have a digital e-curve so it would be easy to set. I just would really like to get it right the first time and not do any damage to my money pit.
One more thing, should I do my first start up without the blower (remove belt) and just to get her running, do a leak check, set timing, ect.?
Thank you for any advice.
Steve
