Finally!!!!

Last summer I got the motor in. This past winter I spent trading out a C4 and C5 to try to get a running transmission in it. I ended up taking the C5 to a shop and having them do a bench rebuild with a shift kit. They screwed it up and gave me my money back, so I bought the book and did it myself.

And here's the results of wrenching on this little ba$tard for a year so far . . . . . . . . .

I'm a happy boy

More pics in my gallery too.

re: Finally!!!!

Thanks! 14 in. Crager SS's in the front, 15 in. Keystone's in the back. I need to have them re-chromed.

I might take it around the neighborhood tomorrow to make test my shift points. All I can be sure of now is engagement in all gears. Haven't had the chance to shift it yet. I can't go really far though because the only wiring I have connected is ignition and charging, no lights, no signals, no accessories. Oh yea, and no mufflers. I don't think a run-in with the cops would be a 'good thing' at this point.

I'm actually kinda nervous. This thing hasn't moved on its own power in over a year.

In the immortal words of Beavis & Butthead:

" He he, Burnout, cool !"

I had a set of cragars just like those. If you want , try sand blasting and painting them to match the car. They look awesome, and it only cost a few bucks.
